Our Mission Statement

The Canada Institute of Linguistics trains linguists, translators and trainers so that all people may have access to the Bible in their own language.

We do this in several ways…

  • We are the linguistics department of Trinity Western University which provides an MA in Linguistics, a BA in Applied Linguistics, a Minor in Applied Linguistics, and a Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)
  • We provide the linguistic training component of the Master of Applied Linguistics and Exegesis program (MLE) at the Associated Canadian Theological Schools (ACTS)
  • We provide the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL) training in Canada
