Classes and Credit

    1. The academic year is divided into two semesters of approximately 15 weeks each. Several courses are also available during the 9-week summer session.
    2. Classes normally are scheduled from Monday to Friday. Prerequisite language courses usually require attendance on campus at least twice per week.
    3. All major examinations are conducted during the final week of the semester. An exam may be rescheduled only because of serious, unavoidable emergencies; a fee is charged for rescheduling.
    4. A semester hour of credit is the unit of measurement for the valuation of courses. A typical course meets three hours per week, and assumes an additional eight to ten hours for preparation, assignments, projects, etc.
