Classes and Credit
- The academic year is divided into two semesters of approximately 15 weeks each. Several courses are also available during the 9-week summer session.
- Classes normally are scheduled from Monday to Friday. Prerequisite language courses usually require attendance on campus at least twice per week.
- All major examinations are conducted during the final week of the semester. An exam may be rescheduled only because of serious, unavoidable emergencies; a fee is charged for rescheduling.
- A semester hour of credit is the unit of measurement for the valuation of courses. A typical course meets three hours per week, and assumes an additional eight to ten hours for preparation, assignments, projects, etc.
