They are involved in a Bible translation project on Vancouver Island and have one daughter. They spend the majority of their time at CanIL while also taking frequent trips to the island and elsewhere in BC to support Bible translation and language revitalisation.<\/p>\n<p>Chuck and Jocelyn are passionate about Bible translation and seeing Indigenous communities flourish in their own languages. They value the preservation of traditional knowledge alongside access to God\u2019s Word in a language that speaks to the heart of a community. Chuck has been involved directly in the publication of several dictionaries, collections of stories, and other forms of life-crucial knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>Interesting fact: Chuck has worked directly with five Indigenous communities covering four Indigenous languages in British Columbia, including the Haisla Nation (x\u0304a\u0301\u02bcislak\u0313ala); We Wai Kai Nation and Wei Wai Kum First Nation (both Liq\u0313\u02b7ala); \u00a0Huu-ay-aht First Nations (nuu\u010daan\u0313uu\u0142); and Pauquachin First Nation (Hul\u02bcq\u02bcumi\u02bcnum\u02bc).<\/p>\n<h2>Education<\/h2>\n<p>2021.
