Once a CanIL student, Danny has led the institute since 2014. Years of linguistic training and capacity-building work in East Africa shape his leadership, along with doctoral research focused on minoritized language communities, educational development, and language policy.

Vice President of Academic Affairs

Randy's teaching is rooted in the field. Before joining CanIL's faculty in 2009, he did survey work among minority language communities in Papua, Indonesia. He holds a PhD in Educational Studies from Biola University and brings experience in curriculum design, sociolinguistic survey, and training national language surveyors.

Vice President of Finance

Strong programs and student support start with sound finances, and that's Jeremy's domain. He leads the financial stewardship and operational stability behind CanIL's academic and ministry training mission, strengthening the infrastructure that keeps its partnerships and programs moving.

Vice President of Language Services & Research

If you've used FieldWorks or Phonology Assistant, you've touched Larry's work. A linguist, instructor, and language technology specialist, he brings deep experience in lexicography, field methods, and training, along with SIL software development and leadership of CanIL communications.

Vice President of Development

For nearly 30 years, Shannon and her husband Dave pastored the church they planted in Kitchener, Ontario. Meanwhile, she raised four kids and built careers in banking, blogging, and digital marketing. None of it was random. It all led here! Dave moved west to retire. God had other plans, and now they lead missions together at their church.

Director of Community Life

Kenya, Tanzania, North America: Jamie has served cross-culturally with Wycliffe since 2006. At CanIL, Jamie walks alongside students preparing for missions, building the community life and formation that carry them into Bible translation and language development.

Director of Recruitment

When war forced Radik to leave Eurasia in 2023, the translation work didn't stop. A Wycliffe Canada member, he has served Indigenous language communities across Eurasia and done linguistics work in West Africa, moving to Eurasia in 2019 to oversee language projects. From British Columbia, he still supports that work remotely while serving as CanIL's Director of Recruitment.

LAUNCH Director

For three decades, Lezlie and her husband Sean have been part of Bible translation work for an unreached people group in Africa, serving with Wycliffe and SIL since 1995. As LAUNCH Director, she now helps prepare future cross-cultural workers for Bible translation and service among minoritized languages.

Director of Strategic Data and Technology Services

Doug's CanIL story began in 2002, but his roots are in the Philippines, where he served with Wycliffe in software development and training. Today he brings decades of experience in IT, language technology, and strategic data systems, including leadership of CanIL's technology services.
