TRAIN

Train to do this work.

CanIL prepares linguists, translators, literacy specialists, and teachers to serve alongside minoritized language communities, so their languages can flourish — with training shaped by people who've done the work in the field, not just studied it.

The depth of an institute, the standing of an accredited credential.

CanIL provides the specialized linguistics training; your degree or certificate is granted by one of our university partners — Trinity Western, Tyndale, or Northwest Seminary. You get the focus of a dedicated institute and the recognition of an accredited credential.

What sets the training apart is who teaches it. Our courses are led by practitioners — people who've designed writing systems, run literacy programs, and worked on translations in the field — so what you learn is grounded in the realities of the work, not just its theory.
